Knowles Looking For More

Morgan Knowles wants to cement his place in the first team following a good season to date.

The 20-year-old has made 40 appearances for the Saints since making his debut in 2016.

“To be lucky enough to play as many games as I have at a young age, with some of the players I have, is very special,” he said. “Confidence is a massive thing in rugby. Having a new coach come in and start me has helped and I feel I can now crack on and further cement myself in the team.

“I have confidence in my own ability. I also know I have more to give so to still be starting games, knowing in myself I have more in there, gives me confidence.”

Morgan has been utilised in several positons since his progression from Academy to the first team with Justin Holbrook starting him at 13.

“That’s my favoured position,” he added. “I see myself as a ball handling loose forward. That is where I like to be. I like doing the tough stuff but I also have some play in me too. That is where I’d like to see my career heading.

“At the moment though I just want to crack on, week in week out. I want to further cement myself in the team and not think too far ahead.”

You can read more from Morgan in this week’s matchday programme. It is priced at £3 and is available from the Saints Superstore and around the concourse on matchday.
