Holbrook: Time To Refocus

Saints head to Leeds this Friday looking to get themselves back into the top four.

Their charge up the table was checked somewhat by Hull FC on Friday but Justin Holbrook insists that his side just needs to move on and refocus on the trip to Headingley.

“It was a disappointing game against Hull but we need to move on,” he said. “We were the poorer of the two sides but in saying that a 50 metre goal separated the teams.

“We played well last time at Leeds but we didn’t get the win. We couldn’t get much to go our way in that game – we lost Matty Smith early and lost Jon Wilkin to a sinbin. We have to play well enough so that doesn’t come into play.

“It will be a tough game for us with the event around the South Stand, but they are coming off a loss too. Their playing group will be hurting a fair deal.”

On the injury front, Holbrook says Adam Swift will have a scan on a shoulder injury sustained in the first few minutes of the Reserves’ win over Wigan.

Luke Douglas is also touch and go for the trip to Leeds.

“Hopefully Adam’s injury isn’t too bad,” he added. “He has been out injured and then he comes back and hurts his shoulder. Luke trained earlier in the week so we will see how he gets on.

“We have missed him. He does a lot of work that goes unnoticed in the middle and that stands out more when you have a tight game like Friday.

“We will have to be on our game to beat Leeds. They are unpredictable; we just have to be ready to work hard.

“If we do that then we will be ok.”

Tickets for Friday’s game remain on sale from the Ticket Office at the Totally Wicked Stadium, by calling 01744 455 052 or online here.
