‘Thommo’ Remains A Saint!

Luke Thompson has committed his future to the Saints after agreeing a new contract.

The dynamic, strong running forward will remain at the club until end of season 2020.

The 22-year-old made his debut in 2013 at London and has gone on to play a further 91 times for his hometown club.

He came through the Club’s ‘Outstanding’ rated Academy system after playing amateur for Bold Miners and Pilkington Recs.

And this season he has been almost ever present in the Saints side too, making 23 appearances.

Saints Head Coach Justin Holbrook said: “Luke is a hard working young prop who already has a wealth of experience under his belt.

“He is keen to learn and I am looking forward to watching him continue his development over the coming seasons.”

Luke added: “I’m really pleased to have signed a new contract at the club.

“I have been here all my career and I’m looking forward to the future under Justin Holbrook and the talent we have coming through the system.

“This has probably been my best season to date in terms of form but I know I still have a lot to work on. I want to get better year on year.

“It means a lot to pull on the Saints shirt – not just for myself but for my family too – and every time I do so I’ll always give 110 per cent.

“It was a dream of mine growing up to play for this club and I’m grateful and excited about being given the opportunity to continue to do so going forward.”

Luke has been with the club since he was 11 and was part of the team that won the Grand Final in 2014.
