Holbrook Happy With Combinations In Win

Justin Holbrook was pleased with the win over Huddersfield on Friday night - especially the performance in the first 55 to 60 minutes.

“I thought that spell was really good,” he said. “We have been working hard – we’ve had some positional changes recently and it was good to finally see those come to fruition.

“I’ve been saying for a while, it would take Ben (Barba) four games to reach fitness and he showed some really good signs. He got tired towards the end but showed what he is capable of. We needed it too and I am happy for him.

“I thought Jonny Lomax went well too. I am a big fan of Theo’s – he hasn’t done anything wrong and we all know that. I can see a lot in Jonny though and he deserved to play there. He played well for us.

“We had some good combinations and played some good rugby league out there – especially in that first spell.”

Saints head to Salford in another must win game next Thursday – whilst keeping one eye on the rest of the Super 8 features.

Justin continued: “It is very tight in the Super 8s but we have to crack on.

“There have been a few dead rubbers in the Super 8s over the years; but this season every game has been really good and tight.

“If it happens like that every year you’d keep it wouldn’t you? It’s been great format this year.”
