Attention Turns To Central Coast

Following a day off to enjoy and reflect on our opening win against the Bulldogs, we're now focused on Game 2.

Day 8 – Monday October 16

With a short four-day turnaround before a game against Central Coast Roosters, Derek Traynor focused on some edge defence and some attacking combinations with an early morning skills session in Penrith.

Following training each player also had an individual review session with the coaching team.

The afternoon was spent on a players’ favourite activity of wakeboarding, courtesy of our hosts Cables Wake Park and as ever the competitive spirit of the players and staff was in evidence.

It has to be acknowledged that what the lads were lacking in skill, technique, balance and coordination, they more than made up for it with perseverance! John Hutchings in particular must be commended; four-and-a-half hours effort for no success at all!

Christian Kellett led from the front to take the spoils as the best player with a commanding performance, closely followed by Sean Croston and Matthew Foster. Jack Welsby took the award for the most spectacular fall, in fact he had the top three falls!

After a quick shower the tour party were treated to a spectacular Aussie BBQ by resident cooks Dave Woods and Ian Talbot, and followed this up with a question and answer session with Eric Chisnall about his career,  achievements and the techniques he used to overcome adversity.

The squad are in great spirits and eagerly await their next challenge of a Central Coast Roosters squad coached by Mark O’Meley on Wednesday.
