Academy Tour – Day 19

As we approach the final weekend of the tour, we managed to re-jig the schedule around to allow us to visit the 'Wet 'n' Wild' waterpark for a morning of fun and laughter on the slides and in the pools.

Day 19 – Friday October 27

Prior to jumping onto the bus, it was time to celebrate and sing happy birthday to Brandon Scully, who turned 17 today.

At the water park, most of the boys, and staff, enjoyed the thrills of twists and turns and the speed of the drops on the slides. All except the youngest member of the tour squad, Kelvin Taylor, who because of his fear of heights, couldn’t force himself to climb the steps to the top so just paddled alone in Nickelodeon land, splashing to the sounds of Dora the Explorer!

It was then a short ride to Parramatta high street to visit Peter Wynn’s – another opportunity for lads to buy some more NRL training gear.

John Hutchings now must have the entire range of the South Sydney Rabbitohs training kit!

It was then back home to prepare for the last pre-game training session of the tour, our captain’s run session over at St. Mary’s Leagues club.

There were some interested spectators on the side-line for the session, as a mob of wild kangaroos looked on much to the excitement of some of the boys!

With the importance of, and the size of the challenge ahead for the boys tomorrow being stressed by the coaching staff, the response from the boys was outstanding as they have saved their best training session ’til the last. They certainly are ready to go!

The St Mary’s club once again did us proud with the all you can eat buffet before we headed home to watch the opening game of the World Cup 2017, Australia v England.

Last game tomorrow!
