Tommy Makinson is hoping Saints show their true colours when they take to the field on Friday.
A long pre-season comes to an end when the winger and his teammates line up to face Castleford Tigers at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
“The coaches and staff have put us through our paces in pre-season and have done a great job,” he said. “All the boys have loved having the ball in their hands more and we look in good shape. Hopefully, we can display that on the pitch and show the hard work we have done this pre-season.
“No one wants to train all their whole life with no end product – and our end product is the start of the season. It’s been all about building for this Friday.”
Saints have a tough start to the season with last year’s League Leaders and Grand Finalists first up before they travel to Catalans.
“Cas were one of the best sides last year and it will be a big challenge for us,” Tommy added. “We are ready and looking forward to it.
“There would be nothing better than winning at home. The game just oozes class and to put points on the board would be good.”
