It’s with great pleasure that Saints Community Development Foundation announce a wonderful new partnership with Bridgend Blue Bulls Rugby League Club.
This exciting new project will see players from the Bridgend club come along to Saints fabulous training facility at Cowley for some sessions with our coaching staff and games within our community.
Also, it gives Bridgend access to our Coach Educator Craig Richards who will work with the coaches of the club.
In turn, Saints in the Community will visit Bridgend and assist in the development of the game in the area, holding sessions and promotional work.
As with any partnership it depends on how hard you are willing to work and already the team behind the scenes at Bridgend have shown a tenacity to make this happen and for it to be right for both clubs.
Foundation Director Steve Leonard said: “We have been discussing this for quite a while now and it is fantastic that we can announce the partnership and our commitment to Bridgend and Rugby League in South Wales.
“I look forward to working with Steve Smith and the guys at Bridgend and hopefully seeing some of their players playing in the Red V and for Wales in the future. I spoke with a former Saints legend and ex Bridgend player Roy Mathias who was absolutely delighted about the partnership he told me both he and Bob Blackwood played there and enjoyed every minute of playing in South Wales.
“Saints has a long history of bringing players from South Wales and quite a contingent of Welsh ex Saints players still live around the town. Thanks, must also go the Chris Thair, Chief Executive Officer at Wales RL, for his assistance in making this partnership a reality.”
