Luke Douglas is expecting a physical battle when Saints take on Wigan this Friday.
Fresh from the win over Hull KR the prop-forward says the fans can look forward to a cracker.
“I’m aware how physical it will be,” he said. “In my second game against them I got knocked out! They have great line speed and ball movement and I’m expecting no less this week.
“They have strike power all over the field. They have a great number of try scorers and also do a great job in the middle. I haven’t seen a lot of them this season so I will do my homework on what is coming at us. It should be a cracker.
“It is an important game and a win would put us in a good position. We are looking forward to it.”
Douglas was the pick of the forwards when Saints beat the Robins on Friday and it’s a result he was happy with.
“It was a good win,” he continued. “We knew it would be tough over there. They are disciplined, well-coached and complete their sets. It was great to play the way we did and get the win. We made 80 more tackles than them so to only concede one try was very pleasing.
“When they did score a few of the boys were blowing up at each other so we regrouped at half time and played well in the second half.
“I’m hoping there is more to come. I still haven’t found my niche and what works for me. There have been glimpses of little bits but I am working hard.
“It’s a little bit different to the NRL in the fact it is a tad slower. I found in the NRL I could pick and choose who to run at but with it being a tad slower here the defensive line is in your face.
“Maybe I am just getting a little older but hopefully I find my little niche in the game over here and I can put up some good performances.”
