Holbrook Happy With Vikings Win

Justin Holbrook said Saints produced a good performance in tough conditions as they beat Widnes on Monday.

“I was really happy to come away with the win,” he said. “We had 16 out of 17 backing up from Good Friday and it was a good test to see how we responded.

“I thought they did a really good job in tough conditions.

“There’s probably no right or wrong answer when you look at making changes in this situation. All I can say is that it’s credit to the player group to want to do that – and do it, as they did, in such good fashion.”

Holbrook also praised the contributions of Ben Barba, Tommy Makinson and Kyle Amor

He continued: “Ben is a fantastic player and he showed that again today. Tommy is a great finisher and scored two really good ones. For him to reach 100 for the club is a great achievement. He is a pleasure to coach and I am really pleased for him.

“Kyle had his best game too.”

Saints are next in action when they host Hull FC at the Totally Wicked Stadium this Friday (7.45pm).

Tickets for the clash are on-sale from www.saintssuperstore.com now.
