Knowsley has a brand new community rugby league club based at Knowsley Community College – the Knowsley Knights.
This gives children from around Knowsley and the surrounding local area a chance to play and learn more about rugby league.
The Community College’s state-of-the-art facility provides an excellent base for new teams with the club’s first age group now recruiting at Under 7s.
Saints Community Development Coach for Liverpool, Daniel Mckernan, commented: “I’m over the moon to finally see this club become official. We have been working hard for a long time now to get to this stage and I am looking forward to seeing this club grow over the coming years.
“It is a really big day for rugby league in the wider Merseyside area as we continue to grow our great sport”
Knights Club Chairman Paul Wilkes added: “I am really looking forward to heading up this new club; I believe there is going to be a very exciting future ahead for rugby league in Knowsley.”
The Under 7s team currently train on a Wednesday night on the all-weather pitch from 5.30pm to 6.30pm
All members of the coaching staff at Knowsley Knights are fully qualified and DBS checked!
