Swift Pleased With Return

A hat-trick in your first game for a month … Saints win over Widnes was a pretty momentous one for Adam Swift.

The 25-year-old notched up only his eighth appearance of the season last Friday but wasted little time in leaving his mark on the game.

“It was good to be back on home soil and score three tries,” he said. “It was important we got the win too after a scrappy victory the week before.

“Widnes can be a tricky team to face and if you turn up with the wrong attitude they can hurt you. They attack well and score some good tries. Our attitude was good coming in and we came out on top.”

Adam has had to bide his time to return to the side, playing four times on dual registration to keep up his match sharpness.

“I started the year pretty strong and then had a little accident,” he said. “But that’s part and parcel of the game. Tommy (Makinson) has been selected for England and Regan (Grace) haven’t put a foot wrong.

“It can be frustrating but you have to take it on the chin, work hard and the opportunities will come.

“I’ll keep working hard in training and keep on doing what I am doing.”

Tickets for Friday’s trip to Hull FC (7:45pm) are now on sale from the Ticket Office at the Totally Wicked Stadium, by calling 01744 455 052 or online here.
