Holbrook Excited By Warriors Clash

Justin Holbrook leads his side into their second derby of the season this Thursday and it’s a clash he expects will be a great one.

The derby is a must watch every season with Saints having chalked up the first meeting on Good Friday 21-18.

“There’s two reasons why it should be a great game,” Justin said. “Wigan have not lost at home all season and it is the clubs’ biggest rivalry. They will also be disappointed after their defeat last week too.

“We know they will have a few players missing but as for how they will play, that is irrelevant. Both teams have a good enough squad to cope if they have a few players out and let’s be honest we know they won’t be poor. They will be ready to play whoever is out there and we will need to be as well.

“The players set standards here and at present we are playing to them every week. We want to keep that going. Last week was a massive win for us; Hull are chasing fourth spot so for us to play well was really pleasing.

“We are playing second this week and they want to close the gap on us and are being chased by Castleford too. It should be a great game.”

Saints will be without Zeb Taia after he suffered a compound fracture in the win over Hull FC – but the good news is he could return for next Thursday’s home clash with Warrington.

“All we have to do is wait the wound to heal which is great news,” he added. “He won’t play this week by may play against Warrington if it has healed in time. It could have been a lot worse.”
