Saints Head To Wolves

Fresh from hoisting the League Leaders’ Shield Saints head to Warrington Wolves this Saturday looking to continue their good form.

Justin Holbrook’s side have won their last two matches and beaten their Cheshire rivals twice already this season.

And, this game could be a dress rehearsal of next month’s Super League Semi Finals.

“It was nice to win the Shield and I am pleased with the performance,” Holbrook said. “We had a number of changes, as did Hull, and we gave James Bentley and Jack Welsby their debuts as well as a first game of the year for Jake Spedding.

“I thought the young guys played well and the senior boys stood up too. It was a great win for us.

“We have no fresh injuries from the game but as I have said all season, if some of the guys have niggles then I won’t play them. If they haven’t then they will play.”

Holbrook expects Ryan Morgan to return to the side for the trip to the Halliwell Jones Stadium with Theo Fages also featuring.

Dom Peyroux, Zeb Taia, James Roby and Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook could also come into contention.

“We had a close game with them a few weeks back and I’m sure it will be the same again,” he added. “They pushed Wigan really close with a number of their best players out too.

“It’s not ideal that we could be playing them again in a couple of weeks but it is something we will have to deal with.

“This game is important of course but it is the one in three weeks that counts the most.”

Tickets for Saturday’s game, which kicks off at 3:15pm, are on sale from the Ticket Office, by calling 01744 455 052, or online here.
