Coach’s Comment: Salford Red Devils

Saints are back into action this Thursday (28 Feb, KO 7:45pm) vs. Salford Red Devils at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Saints Head Coach, Justin Holbrook commented on the win in Round three against the Leeds Rhinos:

“It was a typical Saints Leeds game that I have been involved in since I came over. It went down to the wire with an exciting finish that entertained everyone, just happy to get the win and be three from three. It was a great performance from a character point of view to come back from being behind, so I’m pleased.”

On Salford Red Devils, Justin commented:

“They had a good win last week, this year they have won three of their four games and are playing with a lot of confidence at present. They are playing really expansive as well, they have got Hastings and Lui who look dangerous when they are moving the ball and Evalds at the back as well.

For us it’s about improving our own game, although we won last week there are areas we want to improve. As a side we want to collectively get better, some players were at different stages from pre-season and I’m sure we will continue to improve as the season folds out, collectively and individually.

The competition is certainly strong this year across the board, you can see that through the games that have been played so far, even though it’s early in the season.”

Justin also said that Kevin Naiqama isn’t eligible to play against Salford after his concussion, with Matty Costello most likely to come into the 19-man squad.
