Positive injury update on James Bentley

Kristian Woolf has provided a positive injury update on James Bentley following scans on his ankle injury picked up in the win over Toronto last month.

Story updated: 11.03.20

Bentley impressed in the first half of our 32-0 win over Toronto scoring a try before minutes later going down with an ankle injury and Head Coach Woolf was originally worried it may well be a long lay-off.

However scans have revealed some good news with Bentley set to return in around 3 to 4 weeks time.

Previewing Saints’ clash with Castelford on Sunday, Woolf said: “The news has been really good actually. At one stage there was a little bit of fear he may require surgery or might have been out for 6 to 8 weeks, but the latest [results] shows us that we think he will probably be out for around four weeks which means around three weeks from now.

“James being James, I have got no doubt that he will work really hard and I have no doubt that he is a tough player and he will work hard to make sure it is right. I expect to see him back available in the next three to four weeks.”

Woolf also revealed Lachlan Coote should be fit to face Castleford on Sunday as revealed in his pre-match press interview, below.
