On This Day: Saints beat Warrington – 2016

Each day whilst we are all in Lockdown this week we will recall a famous match from the current day thanks to Saints Heritage Society.

8 APRIL – 2016

Super League R10: Warrington 22-25 St. Helens at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

The Wolves were the current league leaders but were beaten courtesy of a fine all-round team display, inspired by French half-back Theo Fages.

The left side had an unfamiliar look about it, with [try-scorer] Jack Ashworth partnering young debutant winger Jake Spedding.

Other try-scorers were Kyle Amor, Matty Dawson, and a fine finish from Morgan Knowles, with Luke Walsh kicking four goals and a drop goal for good measure!
