Each day whilst we are all in Lockdown this week we will recall a famous match from the current day thanks to Saints Heritage Society.
11 APRIL – 2014
Super League round 8: Castleford Tigers 28-30 St. Helens at the Mend-a-Hose Jungle.
The return of the comeback kings!
Saints were 24-6 down [and looking out of it] at half-time. Yet three tries in the last 13 minutes clinched a memorable victory.
When full-back Paul Wellens scored the penultimate try, in the 74th minute, it took him past 1,000 career points.
Winger Adam Swift scored the winner with two minutes to go, the only time the visitors had been ahead. Fantastic stuff!
