Each day whilst we are all in Lockdown we will recall a famous Saints moment from the current day thanks to Saints Heritage Society.
3 MAY 1997
Challenge Cup final: St. Helens 32-22 Bradford Bulls at Wembley Stadium, London.
Clad in their black, red and white jerseys, the Saints retained the Challenge Cup for the first time after defeating the Bulls on the ground, with grubber kicks, as opposed to the aerial bombardment at the same venue 12 months before!
Anyone remember Karle Hammond’s solo try? An incredible feat of strength!
Can you name the team that took to the field that memorable day?
