Saints clash with Hull KR will go ahead at the Totally Wicked Stadium as planned on Friday (6pm) after both teams return a full set of negative results in the latest Covid-19 testing this week.
All our squad (apart from the already announced positive case of last week) came back with negative results this week which is welcome news given the one positive test last week, forced two more to self-isolate due to track and trace.
Wigan Warriors, who played Hull KR last week, had their routine weekly testing brought forward following the positive test received by a member of their squad, but have since been cleared to make a ground-breaking trip to France this weekend for Saturday’s Betfred Super League fixture against the Catalans Dragons, after the results of their latest round of testing for Covid-19.
And Hull KR also received a full negative set of results from their testing this week. They will play St Helens at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Friday, 6pm.
Wigan will travel to Perpignan on Saturday morning on a charter flight, under conditions approved by the British and French authorities, for the first Betfred Super League fixture in France since the resumption of the season last month – and in a match which will also be the first to host a crowd since the resumption, as permitted by French Government regulations.
The fixture will be televised live in France on free-to-air broadcaster L’Equipe, and in the UK on Sky Sports, kicking off at 5pm BST.
Sky Sports will show all five Betfred Super League fixtures this week, as follows:
Thursday September 10 (Totally Wicked Stadium, St Helens – behind closed doors):
Hull FC v Wakefield Trinity (6pm);
Castleford Tigers v Warrington Wolves (815pm)
Friday September 11 (Totally Wicked Stadium, St Helens – behind closed doors):
