Match Preview: Saints vs Catalans – Play-off Semi Final

Saints face Catalans Dragons with a place in the Betfred Super League Grand Final up for grabs. Kick off tonight is at 7.45pm at our Totally Wicked Stadium and you can read all the pre-match news right here in our match preview.

BACKGROUND…

Saints have had two weeks off – a reward for finishing in the top two of the regular season standings – so Kristian Woolf’s men will arrive into this one fresh and raring to go knowing that we are 80 minutes away from a second consecutive Super League Grand Final.

Alex Walmsley will be back for Saints after he missed the defeat to Wigan, whilst the likes of James Graham, Dom Peyroux and Zeb Taia could grace the Totally Wicked Stadium turf for the final time in the Red Vee.

Catalans arrive full of confidence after a dominant 26-14 win over Leeds Rhinos in the Elimination Play-off last week. David Mead, Israel Folau, Samisoni Langi and Tom Davies scored their tries.

Saints got the better of the Dragons last time out back in August after a 34-6 win and will have to match the power of the Dragons up the middle again with that battle going a long way to deciding the outcome of today’s clash.
