Matty Costello will leave the Club in 2021 after nine years and two Super League Grand Final winners' rings.
Costello is another one of the Club’s Academy successes, having progressed through the ranks from the age of 14 all the way to the first team.
He made his first team debut against Huddersfield in 2018 playing seven times in total. He played 11 times in our 2019 success scoring four times – including a hat-trick against Catalans Dragons.
Costello played eight times in our most recent Grand Final winning season scoring twice and will now take up a new challenge in 2021.
Matty Costello said: “Thank you to everyone involved at the Saints. To all the coaches that I’ve worked with through the Academy and into the first team as well as all the lads I’ve played with. It really has been amazing. I have nothing but good memories here and whilst it will be hard leaving many of my best mates and the team I’ve grown up supporting, I’m excited and ready for a new challenge ahead.”
Kristian Woolf said: “Matty leaves us after 9 years at the Club. He progressed through our Academy to go on and become a first grade player. He leaves us on the back of two Super League Grand Final winners rings and I want to thank him for his professionalism. We wish him the best of luck in the rest of his career.”
The club wishes to thank Matty and we wish him the best of luck in the rest of his career.
