Woolf provides update on Bentley injury

Kristian Woolf has provided an injury update on James Bentley who was stretchered off late in Saints win over Leigh Centurions this evening.

Bentley seemed to fall awkwardly in a tackle in the 79th minute and was down for a considerable amount of time. Both sets of physios came on to support him, whilst oxygen was supplied before his leg was strapped up and he was taken from the field of play.

And in his post match press conference Woolf confirmed that it is a lower leg injury and that it “might not be a good one”, but says it is too early to confirm the extent of the injury.

“We are not quite sure yet [on the injury],” said Woolf.

“It didn’t look very nice on the video. What we do know is that it is a lower leg injury and he certainly has to go and get some x-rays and scans.

“We are certainly hoping for the best, but the indications are that it might not be a real good one but there is no certainty about what it is just yet.

“Whether it’s one week or 10 weeks, we are certainly going to miss him.”
