Jonny Lomax has been withdrawn from England’s squad for tonight’s match against the Combined Nations All Stars on medical grounds with Jack Welsby called up as his replacement - his first senior call-up.
England medical staff made the decision after Lomax sustained a leg injury in training. Lomax will return to St Helens for further treatment.
He will be replaced in the squad by his Saints teammate Jack Welsby, the former England Academy representative and England Knights squad member, who receives his first senior call-up. Congratulations, Jack!
Alex Walmsley was also withdrawn from the squad on medical grounds by the England medical staff on Wednesday. Read about that here.
Tommy Makinson is expected to feature in tonight’s game in Warrington (kick off 8.15pm), whilst Morgan Knowles is in-line for his England debut.
