Lomax out but Walmsley is named in 21 ahead of Tigers clash

Jonny Lomax misses out in this week's 21-man squad ahead of St Helens Betfred Super League Round 12 trip to Castleford Tigers on Wednesday evening (7.45pm kick off), but Alex Walmsley is included.

Lomax and Walmsley were both forced to withdraw from England duty last week and unfortunately Lomax has not recovered from his minor injury picked up training with Shaun Wane’s squad.

Walmsley however is recovering well and is named in the 21. The other notable absentee is Joel Thompson who suffered a shoulder injury against Warrington and misses Wednesday’s clash with Castleford.

Josh Eaves comes into the squad after his short loan spell at Wakefield ended, as does Ben Davies who impressed in his stint at Salford recently.

Tommy Makinson and Morgan Knowles both came through their England camp unscathed and are named.

Kristian Woolf will give an update on Lomax’s injury in his pre-match press conference later today.

Mark Percival, Matty Lees, James Bentley and Jake Wingfield are all still out with injuries.

The game is NOT televised but is on the Our League app for 2021 members.
