Sione Mata'utia has been handed a two match ban after being found guilty of two separate Grade B offences in our game with Wakefield Trinity on Friday meaning he is set to miss the Betfred Challenge Cup Final.
The RFL Match Review Panel reviewed two incidents. The first occurred in approximately the 8th minute in which Mata’utia was adjudged to have committed a high tackle classed as ‘reckless’ on Mason Lino, whilst he was then deemed to have made ‘dangerous contact’ in the 28th minute with Jacob Miller.
Both instances have been deemed as Grade B, one match penalty notices, meaning he will now unfortunately miss the Challenge Cup Final on Saturday as well as Saints home Betfred Super League clash with Hull KR the following week.
Tommy Makinson was also given a caution for disputing a referee’s decision.
