Tommy Makinson has been handed a three match ban after being found guilty of a Grade C high tackle in our game with Castleford Tigers on Thursday meaning he will miss Friday's derby against Wigan Warriors.
The RFL Match Review Panel reviewed an incident which occurred in the 64th minute in which Makinson was sent off for a high tackle on Castleford’s Niall Evalds.
The panel have deemed the tackle a “Reckless” Grade C offence after making contact with the head or neck of an opponent. The panel indicated he “tried to tackle, but reckless about outcome”.
The charge means he will subsequently miss Saints’ next three matches – starting with this Friday’s derby against Wigan at the DW Stadium before the home clash with Leigh Centurions on Thursday 26 August and Bank Holiday Monday’s trip to Warrington.
He should return against Catalans Dragons at Magic weekend on Saturday 4th September.
A decision by the Club will be made later today on whether to appeal the ruling or not.
