UPDATE: Makinson ban reduced to two games following appeal

Tommy Makinson has had his three match ban reduced to two games following an appeal at an RFL Match Review hearing this evening meaning he will miss Friday's derby against Wigan Warriors.

Makinson pleaded guilty to his Grade C high tackle, but challenged the grading, following last Thursday’s Betfred Super League game against Castleford Tigers.

The Operational Rules Tribunal downgraded the offence from a Grade C to a Grade B meaning the three-match suspension was reduced to two – with the £500 fine remaining.

Makinson will miss Friday’s derby against Wigan at the DW Stadium and the home clash with Leigh Centurions on Thursday 26 August.

He should return against Warrington Wolves on Bank Holiday Monday.
