The Betfred Women’s Super League fixture between St Helens and Leeds Rhinos which was scheduled for Sunday (September 5) has been awarded to St Helens with a 24-0 scoreline after Leeds advised they would be unable to fulfil the fixture.
Leeds have been affected by Covid-19 in addition to a number of long-term and short-term injuries, although they do not meet the threshold of seven senior players ruled out as a direct result of Covid which would allow the postponement of the match under the game’s Covid Fixture Protocols.
The other fixture in the BWSL Play-Offs scheduled for Sunday, between Wigan Warriors and York City Knights at Robin Park, will now kick off at 3pm, rather than midday as originally scheduled – and will be shown live on Twitch, with highlights on Sky Sports next week.
