Roby fit but Bentley could be out for an “extended period”

Kristian Woolf has revealed James Roby is fit to face Leeds Rhinos on Friday after recovering from an injury picked up in the defeat to Catalans, but there is not so good news for James Bentley who could be out for an "extended period".

Roby left the field late on holding his shoulder, but Woolf has revealed our captain is “fine” and has trained this week ahead of our clash with Leeds Rhinos on Friday at the Totally Wicked Stadium (7.45pm).

But, there is not so good news for Saints’ James Bentley who Woolf has revealed could miss “an extended period” and is set to see a specialist next week on his back after he left the field towards the end of the first half following a ‘crusher’ tackle by Sam Kasiano who was sent to the sin bin as a result.

Woolf revealed: “It is not a real good one, James has got some ligament damage around his spine.

“James could not finish the game and was in quite severe pain. He is really disappointed and has more appointments with specialists next week and we are obviously hoping on the positive side there.

We are hoping for the best there – but there is a chance and likelihood that this could be an extended period.

“He is a good player – and you always miss your good players. For whatever period he is out for we will miss him.”

Hear more from the boss tomorrow as he speaks to the media ahead of Saints clash with Leeds at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Friday with kick off at 7.45pm.
