Saints Reserves scored eight tries as we returned to winning ways with a defeat of Salford Red Devils at The Totally Wicked Stadium on Saturday.
Saints Reserves came out strongly through two quick Keane Gilford tries, one of them being a fantastic 70 metre effort on his first game at Reserve level after progressing through the academy. Moss converted.
Saints continued to set the pace and Jake Burns went over from a few metres out. Moss was again successful with the conversion. Then, further relentless pressure from Saints found Jumah Sambou going over in the left hand corner. This time Moss was unsuccessful with the conversion.
The visitors ended the first half strongly, however an excellent try saving tackle from Danny Hill kept Salford at bay and we led at the interval.

After the break, Salford continued to work hard and were rewarded as first team prop Greg Burke powered over. The try was successfully converted by Rourke.
The visitors then built on this momentum, with Nathan Taylor scoring in the corner. Rourke missed the conversion.
Despite Salford’s strong start to the second half, Saints did not panic as Moss fooled the defence with a dummy to go over, before captain Sam Royle then added himself to the scoresheet, powering over close to the line. Archer stepped up and kicked both conversions.
However, the visitors did not give up. Thanks to a rather fortunate bounce from a chip over the top in the Devils favour, Myles-Dalton Harrop scored the third and final try for Salford. Rourke converted.
As the game went into the last few minutes, Salford’s defence looked tired. Rio Corkill took full advantage, breaking the line for Danny Hill to support. Ellis Archer converted and that meant it finished 42-16.
