A young Saints Reserves side defeated Castleford Tigers Reserves at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Saturday afternoon.
We came out the blocks fast with two quick tries from Rio Corkhill and Keane Gilford. Shay Martyn converted the latter and we led 10-0.
Saints continued to apply pressure, resulting in further points in the hands of Jake Burns going over close to the line, converted by Martyn, 16-0.

Mid-way through the first half, Matty Foster, making his return to competitive action after a long lay off, was unfortunately forced off through injury. The Club will have an update on Matty’s condition in the coming days.
After the break it was the Tigers who came out firing with two tries in quick succession through Abdullah Balogun and Elliot Wallace leaving just a 4-point gap between the two sides.
However, Saints kept their composure as Daniel Moss found Rio Corkhill who went over for his second try of the afternoon. Converted again by Martyn.
An error in Saints half gave the hosts an opportunity to respond and Adam Banwell went over. Agar was unsuccessful with the conversion.
Into the last 15 minutes and Saints looked the more energetic side. A five minute spell of teamwork and brilliance between Jake Burns and Lewis Baxter resulted in the latter scoring two quick-fire tries, both converted by Martyn.
In the dying minutes the Tigers defence looked tired, Corkhill took advantage with a fantastic 50m effort to complete his hat-trick. Martyn was successful with another touchline conversion.
