Saints Women's fixture at Huddersfield on Sunday will now be played at a later date, after the two sides agreed to postpone the fixture.
Betfred Women’s Super League: Huddersfield Giants versus St Helens
Sunday’s (14 August) Betfred Women’s Super League game between Huddersfield Giants and St Helens has been postponed.
Huddersfield Giants sought a postponement due to extenuating circumstances, and both the RFL and St Helens have agreed to it. The clubs will now seek an alternative date before the end of the regular season.
The fixture was scheduled to be the third time the two sides have met so far in 2022, fourth if you include the Nines tournament. The first meeting between the sides saw Saints win 24-0 at the Totally Wicked Stadium in April on our way to winning the Women’s Challenge Cup. The two sides met again at the same venue last month as Saints ended their two-game losing streak with a comfortable 62-0 victory. The two sides also met at the Nines last month which saw a young Saints squad beat the Giants 12-4 in Salford.
The West Yorkshire side are yet to get a point in this year’s Women’s Super League, losing all seven of their games and sit bottom of the table. Saints on the other hand sit in third having won four and lost two of their six games so far. Two crucial wins in recent wins against the top two York City Knights and Leeds Rhinos saw Saints guarantee a playoff place, and are still in the hunt to retain our League Leaders Shield crown.
