Our Betfred Super League fixtures for the 150th season in the Club's history are now confirmed...
Our Round 2 fixture will see us travel to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle to face the Castleford Tigers, broadcast live on Channel 4, with kick off at 3pm.
It was revealed last night, that we will kick off the our 2023 Betfred Super League home opener against the Leeds Rhinos at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Friday 3 March (KO 8pm)
The Betfred Super League Magic Weekend was also confirmed last week, where we will face Huddersfield Giants at Newcastle’s St James’ Park, Sunday 4 June (KO 2.45pm)
And now our fixture dates for the rest of the 2023 campaign have been revealed…
We will travel to newly promoted Leigh Leopards in Round 4, Friday 10th March, followed by Tony Smith’s Hull FC at home the following week in Round 5.
Rivals Round (Round 8) on Good Friday, 7 April, sees us head over the hill to face the Wigan Warriors (KO 3pm) in the traditional Good Friday Derby.
Two weeks later, another huge date for the diary is our clash against the Warrington Wolves, Thursday 20 April, which is then followed by a trip to the South of France to face the Catalans Dragons Friday 5 May (KO 8pm)
It’s then the Rhinos away, Friday 26th May (Round 13) and then a huge match-up with the Wigan Warriors at the Totally Wicked Stadium, Friday 9 June.
We then have home games against the Castleford Tigers, Friday 30 June (Round 17) Catalans Dragons, Friday 14 July (Round 19) and then the Leeds Rhinos once again Friday 28 July in Round 20.
Home games vs Hull KR, Friday 18 August, Leigh Leopards, Friday 8 September and Hull FC, Friday 22 September round of our 2023 campaign.
The regular season will see each team will play 27 fixtures – 13 home and 13 away, plus Magic Weekend at St James’ Park.
The end of season Play-Offs will again see the top six ranked teams battle it out to reach Old Trafford. The top two teams at the end of the regular season will be just 80mins from the Grand Final and receive a bye in week 1 of the play-offs before facing the winners from third versus sixth and fourth versus fifth.
The culmination of the season, the Betfred Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford, will take place on Saturday 14 October.
Super League and St Helens continue to work with the NRL to finalise arrangements for a World Club Challenge game to be held across the weekend of 18/19 February. Further announcements will be made in due course and as a result of our possible involvement in the World Club Challenge, our Round 1 fixture against Huddersfield Giants will be postponed and re-arranged at a date later in the season.
The new season kick-offs on Thursday 16 February on Sky Sports, when Warrington Wolves take on 2022’s beaten Grand Finalists, Leeds Rhinos.
The following night, live on Sky Sports, sees the promoted and newly re-named Leigh Leopards welcome former coach Paul Rowley and his Salford Red Devils team to Leigh Sports Village for the Leopards first game back in Super League.
The first weekend of broadcast games is rounded off on Saturday 18 February with Hull KR against Wigan Warriors, live on Channel 4.
Channel 4 will again broadcast 10 games free-to-air in 2023 and their first five matches will be Hull KR v Wigan Warriors (Round 1, 18 February, 1pm), Castleford Tigers v St Helens (Round 2, Sunday 26 February), Leeds Rhinos v Catalans Dragons (Round 6, Saturday 25 March), Warrington Wolves v Hull FC (Round 7, Saturday 1 April) and St Helens v Salford Red Devils (Round 12, Saturday 13 May).
