Young stand-off Ellis Archer has been released from his Saints contract to sign a one-year deal with his hometown Club, Barrow Raiders.
Archer, 18, joined the Saints Scholarship system in 2019 before stepping up into the Academy in 2021 where he scored four tries in 14 games as well as kicking 15 goals.
He made eight appearances for the Reserves in 2022 scoring one try, before his hard work was rewarded later that year as he made his first team debut for the Club when a youthful Saints side were defeated 18-34 at home to Wakefield.
Ellis has spent the last four years commuting from Barrow to train with the Saints and it was in both the Club and the players’ interest to move on and sign for his local Championship side Barrow Raiders where he can gain more first team experience and further his career.
Everyone at the Saints wants to thank Ellis for his hard work, dedication and commitment and we wish him well in his future career.
