World Champion Saints visit BBC Breakfast & 5Live

Following St Helens’ historic World Club Challenge victory in Australia over Penrith Panthers, Head Coach Paul Wellens and star winger Tommy Makinson visited the BBC’s studio in Media City UK, in Salford.

The Saints were first on the country’s biggest morning news programme, BBC Breakfast, hosted by presenters Jon Kay, John Watson, and Sally Nugent – who has been a fantastic ambassador of Rob Burrow and the MND Association which is of course very close to the hearts of the rugby league community.

With the World Club Challenge trophy in the studio, Wellens and Makinson discussed the importance of the win, and the belief in the team that they would get the job done.

Shortly after their interview on Breakfast, both Wellens & Makinson raced to the BBC Radio 5Live studios to speak to Jeanette Kwakye and Rick Edwards about getting the win over Penrith.
