Reserves face Newcastle on Saturday

Saints Reserves will return to competitive action on Saturday afternoon, as they host Newcastle Thunder.

St Helens Reserves’ clash against Newcastle Thunder will kick off at 1pm at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Saturday.

The game is Derek Hardman’s first competitive game in charge of the Reserve side, following a narrow 32-24 defeat to Swinton Lions in pre season. You can also view highlights of that game here.

Hardman was Head Coach of St Helens Women from 2019 until 2022, which included a historic treble winning season back in 2021. Hardman also won the Challenge Cup last year during his final season in charge of the side. It was also recently announced that he would be remaining as an England Women’s Assistant Coach following the recent Rugby League World Cup.

The Saints will have twelve more regular season games following the opener this weekend during the 2023 campaign. Seven of the Red V Reserves 13 games will take place in St Helens this upcoming season.

For those wanting to attend the game, ticket prices are as follows:

All 2023 Members – Free Entry

Non Member Adults – £5

Non Member Concessions – £3

Please note that turnstiles will be CARD ONLY so anyone wanting to pay with cash will be unable to do so…

Any fans unable to attend will be able to watch full match footage or highlights on Saints TV at some point next week.
