Eboni Partington to wear number three in 2023

With our 2023 Squad Number announcement to follow tomorrow, we can confirm that Eboni Partington will be our new number three next season!

The change comes off the back of a breakout season for Partington, who just recently received her first ever callup to the England National Performance Squad.

Eboni becomes just the third player in Saints Women history to wear the shirt, following the likes of Carrie Roberts and Katie-May Williams who wore the shirt before her.

The versatile back featured in all 14 of our games in 2022, scoring seven tries, which included a brace in the Women’s Challenge Cup Final victory over Leeds.

Partington made her debut for the club in 2019, featuring in a 96-0 victory at Stanningley. She has gone on to make 25 appearances so far for the Red Vee, scoring nine tries. Eboni’s Heritage Number is 34.

Eboni Partington on her new number: Delighted to become the teams new number three. I can’t wait to pull on my new shirt this upcoming season.”

“I have worked very hard over the past few months to try and nail down a starting spot in this side so to be given the number three shows my hard work is paying off. It is great to know that the hard work isn’t going unnoticed!”

“I look forward to seeing all our fans in the friendly against Bradford next month before we kick off our campaign against York two weeks later.”

Head Coach Matty Smith reacts to the news: “She has been outstanding during pre season. Effort is always 100%. She fully deserves the number 3 shirt this season, and I know she will have a big year with us. It’s also fantastic to see her push her way into the England set up this year.”

The rest of our 2023 Squad Numbers will be released tomorrow, so stay tuned to our website and socials media channels if you’d like to see them first!
