This week for the Saints

Four of our Saints sides are in match action this week, all on the road and all with different opponents.

St Helens Women will kick-off their Betfred Women’s Super League 2023 season on Sunday with a trip to York to take on the newly re-branded York Valkyrie!

It all starts on Wednesday though with our Under 19 Women’s side taking on Warrington Wolves Women Under 19’s.

On Friday night the First Team make the big trek east across the M62 to visit Hull KR, and on Saturday lunchtime our Reserves are in West Yorkshire to face Braford Bulls Reserves.

Find out all the key details below.

Women’s Under 19s – vs Warrington Wolves (A)

Our young Women’s Development Squad get their first hit out in 2023 away at Warrington Wolves on Wednesday night.

Reserves – vs Bradford Bulls (A)

*UPDATED: – This match has now been brought forward to Friday night, changing venue too with the game to be played at Horsfall Stadium. The change has been made in anticipation of the weather, moving to a 4g pitch to safeguard the fixture going ahead.

The Red V Reserves are on the hunt for their third win of the season in as many games!

Big home scores were posted over Newcastle Thunder (72-4) and Wakefield Trinity (50-20), but now it’s an away for the first time in 2023 for the Reserves at Odsal Stadium against Bradford Bulls.

The Bulls Reserves have lost twice on the road to Leeds Rhinos and Hull FC, so on their own patch they will be keen to impress.

The Saints will be looking to shake off the away loss to Wigan Warriors on Good Friday. The York side have strengthened their squad in the off-season to try go better than they did in a successful season last year which saw them lift the League Leader’s Shield but come short in the Grand Final against Leeds Rhinos.

Head Coach of the Red V Matty Smith takes charge of his first competitive match as boss, with all our squad hungry to start the year off with a bang.
