On Saturday (13th May), we could be celebrating a King of our own.
James Roby is in line to become the all-time record holder for the most match appearances for St. Helens R.F.C!
Last Friday night the Saints’ captain matched the iconic Kel Coslett’s record of 531 matches for our club, and against Salford Red Devils this Saturday afternoon at the Totally Wicked Stadium he could break the record and further cement his name as one of, if not the, greatest of all time.
The record gives further motivation to Paul Wellens’ men to get the result against a red-hot Red Devils, who are on a four-match winning streak. Saints suffered a tough defeat to Catalans Dragons in the last round so will be fighting to get back to winning ways in front of our own home crowd.
It will be the first meeting of the season between Saints and Salford, two sides who can play some of the best rugby in Super League.
