St Helens are heading to Headingley for double the action as our Women and First Team take on Leeds Rhinos in league action. Saints Women start proceedings with kick-off at 5:30pm, followed by the Men’s game scheduled for 8pm.
With two Saints sides in match action, we encourage fans who are travelling across to Leeds to get into the ground early to cheer our Women and Men on!
Paul Wellens charges are looking to make it three wins on the spin after securing a solid win over Salford Red Devils in the Betfred Super League and following it up with a victory over a stubborn Halifax Panthers side last Friday night. The win over Fax booked the Red V’s spot in the quarter-finals of Cup, where we will face Hull FC.
The First Team Head Coach names three changes to the squad that was announced for the Sixth Round of the Challenge Cup, with Morgan Knowles unavailable for selection following his two-match suspension. Dan Norman and Wesley Bruines also make way in the squad for some senior Saints to step in.
Captain James Roby returns to the 21-man list after being rested last week and is set to keep making history after his club-record appearance against Salford a fortnight ago.
Back-rower Curtis Sironen is available for selection after serving his one-match suspension, and Konrad Hurrell has been cleared to play after being stood down the past two weeks due to a neck issue that required a specialist appointment.

Only one change has been made from the squad that got the win over Warrington Wolves last weekend in the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup to top Group 3 and earn a home quarter-final.
Phoebe Hook comes in for Naomi Williams, who failed her head injury assessment after being substituted against the Wire following a clash of heads in the first half. Hook could make her debut for the Red V on Friday, having joined up with the squad a few weeks into the new campaign.
This is the first meeting between the two sides since last year’s Betfred Women’s Super League Semi Final at Headingley. A month prior to that game, Saints travelled to West Yorkshire and defeated Leeds 22-30 at Headingley as part of another double header at the stadium. The Saints also secured the win over Rhinos back in May last year to lift the Women’s Challenge Cup.
Clashes between the Saints and Rhinos women are always high quality affairs and with both holding high aspirations of silverware once again, this match will undoubtedly be a must-watch.
