St Helens’ Cup semi-finals drawn

Both St Helens' First and Women's teams progressed to the final four of the Betfred Challenge Cup, and the draw for both semi-finals has been made.

The two Saints matches will be part of the Challenge Cup semi-final weekend on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd of July – with details to be officially confirmed in due course.

Our First Team got through to the final four firstly with a Sixth Round victory on the road against Halifax Panthers 2-26. followed by a professional performance away at Hull FC, winning 18-32 in the quarter-final.

Paul Wellens’ Men will face high-flying Leigh Leopards, who are having a season to remember following their promotion to the Super League. The re-branded Centurions beat bottom of the table Wakefield Trinity in Round 6, before getting a victory over York Knights in the quarter-final, 14-34.

The Red V Women topped their group with wins over London Broncos, Castleford Tigers and Warrington Wolves, earning a home quarter-final which drew another game against the Wolves Women, which Smiths’ side won comfortably 36-0.

Matty Smith’s Women have been drawn against York Valkyrie, the winner of that semi-final will go through to the Women’s Challenge Cup Final which will be played for the first time ever at Wembley Stadium.
