This week for the Saints

Four matches for The Saints this week, including an exciting double header against Castleford Tigers on Friday night!

The Saints start match action this week when our Scholarship side travel to face Warrington on Wednesday night. Both our Academy and First Team will be playing at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Friday night in a Double Header, before our Women’s side host Huddersfield Giants on Sunday afternoon!

Find out all the key details below.

Scholarship vs Warrington Wolves (A)

The Red V Under 16’s are back in action looking to make it back-to-back wins after an impressive victory last time out when they beat Wakefield 44-12 at the Totally Wicked Stadium a fortnight ago.

It has been a good start to the season for our young Saints, who have only tasted defeat once from their first five meetings. Warrington’s Scholarship side have won all five of their matches so far in the 2023 season, so it will be extra sweet if Saints can build on the win over Wakefield, and make Wire taste defeat for the first time in this campaign.

  • Wednesday, 28th June
  • Kick off 7pm
  • Victoria Park, WA4 1DQ
  • Entry is £5 for adults or £2 for juniors/concessions

Academy vs Castleford Tigers (H)

Seven matches, seven wins. St Helens’ Under 18’s remain top of the Academy Championship table with an 100%-win record so far this season. The latest victory came a fortnight ago away at Hull FC, with an impressive performance winning 20-42 against a side that had only lost one match in the year, prior to facing Saints.

The Red V will be aiming to make it eight wins from eight as they host 10th place Castleford Tigers at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Friday evening. The first match of an exciting Double Header with the West Yorkshire club.

  • Friday, 30th June
  • Kick off 5:15pm (Turnstiles open from 4:45pm)
  • Totally Wicked Stadium, WA9 3AL
  • This match serves as curtain raiser for the First Team game. Match tickets are available online at eticketing.co.uk/saintsrlfc

First Team vs Castleford Tigers (H)

The Saints’ six-match winning run came to an end at the hands of Hull FC last Thursday night in uncharacteristic fashion. Paul Wellens’ men take on Castleford Tigers on home soil on Friday night, and will be hungry to get back to winning ways and show a reaction to last week’s defeat.

It has been a good run of home form for St Helens in 2023, only losing once at the Totally Wicked Stadium so far, and the Tigers have found our ground a tough place to come over the years.

  • Friday, 30th June
  • Kick off 8pm (Turnstiles open from 4:45pm for the Academy game)
  • Totally Wicked Stadium, WA9 3AL
  • Match tickets are available online at eticketing.co.uk/saintsrlfc#

Women vs Huddersfield Giants (H)

On Sunday Matty Smith’s St Helens Women will play their Round 4 match in the Betfred Women’s Super League full of confidence and wanting to make it three league wins on the spin.

One of the performances of the season saw Saints dominate Leeds Rhinos Women on their own turf last month, and then in The Derby against Wigan the Red V put in a professional performance to win in Round 3.

Since that league fixture victory over our local neighbours, Smith’s Women have beaten Warrington in convincing style, and made it all the way to the semi-finals of the Women’s Nines competition last weekend.

  • Sunday, 2nd July
  • Kick off 1pm
  • Totally Wicked Stadium, WA9 3AL
  • Match entry prices for non-Members: Adults – £5, Concessions – £3, Under 16’s – £2
