Saints squad for home clash with Catalans

St. Helens return home to the Totally Wicked Stadium on Thursday night to take on table-topping Catalan Dragons in Betfred Super League, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm!

Paul Wellens’ men moved into third in the league standings following their away win at Warrington last Friday night, making it back-to-back victories and extending their form to eight victories in the last nine matches.

The Saints’ Head Coach makes two changes to the squad that was named for that win at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, with Lewis Baxter and Tee Ritson stepping out of the team for this fixture.

Curtis Sironen could make his return to action after picking up a slight hamstring injury during the Saints’ league game at Hull FC. Dan Norman has returned following his two-week loan at Leigh Leopards, and featured in the Saints’ big Reserves win over Warrington Wolves, 22-56, this past weekend.

Steve McNamara’s Dragons remain at the summit of the table, but did lose at home on Saturday evening to Huddersfield Giants – cutting their lead to just two points. The Red V have a game in-hand still to play due to the World Club Challenge at the start of the year, and could keep the pressure building in the fight at the top with a win.

Clashes with Catalans in recent years have been some of the best and most top-quality matches in the season, and this should be no different as two of the best sides in the competition will face off.
