Our Cup stories so far…

Take a look at our First & Women teams' journeys to the Semi-Finals of the Betfred Challenge Cup 2023...

FIRST TEAM

Our Men began their Cup campaign with a Sixth Round victory on the road against Halifax Panthers 2-26 on Friday, 19th May.

Joey Lussick proved to be dangerous from dummy half grabbing two scores at The Shay, whilst youngster Jake Wingfield bagged his first senior score in the famous Red V! It was a memorable night in West Yorkshire, our first visit to Halifax in 20 years, with an electric atmosphere created by both sets of supporters.

The win over the Panthers was followed by a professional performance away at Hull FC, winning 18-32 in the quarter-final on Saturday, 17th June.

Saints ran in tries with six different try-scorers to dispatch the Black & Whites at the MKM Stadium, Batchleor, Hurrell, Sironen, Dodd, Welsby and Bell the men getting on the score sheet.

In the Semi-Final, Paul Wellens’ Men will face high-flying Leigh Leopards who are having a season to remember following their promotion to the Super League.

The re-branded Centurions beat bottom of the table Wakefield Trinity in Round 6, before getting a victory over an incredibly game York Knights in the quarter-final.
