St. Helens captain James Roby has been honoured by his former school Cowley International College with a plaque celebrating his achievements in the sport of rugby league.
The plaque, which was revealed on Tuesday, 18th July 2023, is placed in the atrium of the school with an image of James holding the Super League trophy from the 2022 Grand Final, his sixth top-flight championship.
A quote from Roby is also proudly part of the plaque and it reads:
“Effort and hard work lay the foundation for success.”
Roby is a proud Cowleian student from 1997 through to 2004, playing rugby for the school throughout the seven years there.
The unveiling of the plaque took place in front of the whole of the current Year 7 students, the school’s Chair of Governors, and staff including Executive Principal Cameron Sheeran who spoke about the inspiring career that James has had.
