Smith adds 2023 Challenge Cup to Saints’ Honours Wall

Following St.Helens Women's historic victory at Wembley Stadium to secure a third straight Betfred Women's Challenge Cup, the Head Coach has added the achievement to the Saints' Honours Wall!

The Saints made history by becoming the first Women’s Rugby League side to win under the national stadium’s famous arch against Leeds Rhinos, 8-22.

At the Totally Wicked Stadium, the Players’ Tunnel leading to the Home and Away dressing rooms proudly displays both the Men’s and Women’s teams major honours across our hugely successful 150-year history.

Over recent years, the Club has needed to add further successes to the Honours Wall, such as the Women’s team winning the Challenge Cup last year, or the First Team’s fourth-in-a-row Grand Final win last autumn.

This week, after leading his Saints to glory, Matty Smith has added his first trophy as a coach to the Wall, and Saints TV captured the moment!

The successful Head Coach of the side who has won the trophy is the person who gets to add the latest achievement onto the Honours Wall. However, as part of our Daniel Anderson Round, and to help raise vital funds for the former Saints boss following his injury, this was raffled off as a prize and Saints fan Chris got to be a small part of our history! You can see that addition to our Wall, by clicking here.
