This Saturday, (26th August) it is a table-topping derby clash as our Under 18 Academy Saints face Wigan Warriors Academy at the Totally Wicked Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 1pm.
Contests between the Red V and the Warriors never disappoint, and both take pride in producing rugby league talent to become First Team Super League regular players.
There is even further motivation as both sides sit in the top positions on the league table, with our Saints holding a perfect record to date in 2023, ten games, ten wins. The visitors on Saturday sit in second just two points behind St.Helens who handed the Warriors that one loss back in April at the Robin Park Arena, 18-46.
Last time out, our Academy secured a strong win over Leeds Rhinos 42-24 to get their tenth successive victory in the season.
Five of the Saints’ Academy featured for Lancashire in the Academy Origin decider last Saturday, with Owen Dagnall stealing the show with a mammoth four scores against Yorkshire. Wigan had plenty of presence in the Red Rose outfit too, so Saturday’s match promises to be a high-quality affair as the season comes closer to a close.

Supporters wishing to attend St.Helens Academy versus Wigan Warriors Academy at the Totally Wicked Stadium can do so by heading to the South Stand/South East section of the stadium and using Turnstiles 10-14.
