Paul Wellens has named his squad ahead of going to The Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Friday night to take on Castleford Tigers, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm.
St.Helens head into this Betfred Super League Round 23 fixture in good form, winning their last four matches in succession which began with a gutsy win over Leeds Rhinos, followed by a remarkable second-half comeback away at Salford, and then back-to-back home victories over Huddersfield and then Hull KR just last Friday night.
Head Coach Paul Wellens names the same 21 men who were declared for the fixture against the Robins. In his weekly press conference, the Red V boss revealed that Konrad Hurrell has returned to training with the team and could be in contention for selection, but he is not named in this week’s squad. Matty Lees will serve the final match of his two-game suspension and should return to be available for next week’s away game at Wakefield Trinty.
Castleford come into this match hot on the heels of their most important win of the season so far, beating Wakefield Trinity away and giving them the advantage for now in the relegation dogfight.
With this game against the Saints being the Tigers’ penultimate home match of the season, as well as serving as Danny Ward’s first home match since taking over as the Head Coach, it will likely be a lively atmosphere at The Jungle.
Over 700 Saints fans have already secured their tickets and are heading over to Castleford!
