Head Coach Paul Wellens has named his 21-man squad for the Saints’ clash with Wakefield Trinity at the Be Well Support Stadium this Sunday, which kicks off at 3pm.
St.Helens have won their last five league fixtures going into Round 24 of Betfred Super League 2023, the latest of which was a commanding first-half performance over Castleford Tigers at The Jungle last Friday night. It’s tight at the top of the table, with the Saints looking to push toward the top spot as the end of the regular season draws near.
Wellens welcomes to his squad two senior players with Matty Lees back available after serving his two-match suspension and Konrad Hurrell who could mark his return following a calf injury that ruled him out of the last four Saints games.
Our hosts on Sunday Wakefield currently sit bottom of the Super League table and are desperate to survive in the top flight but are currently in the spot that would see them relegated at the end of the season.
In recent months they have given themselves hope with four crucial home wins and they will be desperate to get their next positive result. Three of their final four fixtures, including Sunday’s, will be in front of their own fans, so both Saints and Wakefield head into the fixture highly motivated at either end of the league ladder, in what promises to be a lively atmosphere.
Over 750 Saints fans have already secured their tickets and are heading over to Belle Vue on Sunday!
